Glen Burnie Area: Responsible for the day‑to‑day business affairs of the 2 office physician group practice to achieve corporate objectives as stated in corporate mission statement. Position reports to the Practice Administrator/CEO. EDUCATION: A graduate degree or an undergraduate degree in business or a related area is desired. Management experience in medical group practice required. EXPERIENCE: The Business Office Manager must possess a working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, managed care and medical computer billing systems. The Business Office Manager must have the ability to successfully work with physicians, technicians, and other office personnel. Must have basic financial skills and sufficient knowledge of accounting to direct the daily financial operations and review financial reports. The incumbent has overall responsibility for the management of medical staff provider credentialing and reappointment. This includes primary source verification, third party payer credentialing, provider new hire processing, etc. The incumbent is directly supervised by the Senior Director, Medical Staff Services in the completion of assigned duties and responsibilities. To further supplement and meet the systems needs for requisite data, the incumbent is oftentimes in direct contact with the Chief Medical Officer and Clinical Leadership; Senior Vice President EHMG, Providers, Commercial Payers, State and Federal agencies such as CMS and various other institutions to complete the verification process. The incumbent will manage an automated credentialing and re-credentialing software system for licensure, certifications, and privileges. In addition to meeting the credentialing requirements of Erickson Health Medical Group (EHMG), the incumbent also manages a portion of the provider credentialing requirements of the Renaissance Garden facilities (Sub Specialist), Employee Health; and other product lines at each applicable community as assigned. Qualifications: A college degree is preferred, but not required. National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) sponsored credentials in Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM), and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is preferred. Two or more years of Medical staff office experience involving exposure and knowledge of medical staff/payer and/or managed care credentialing is preferred. Two or more years of experience in management with direct reporting relationships is required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must be proficient in the use of Credentialing Software, Outlook/Microsoft Office products including; Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point. Must have strong proofreading skills and the ability to multitask.
